3 Day Vipassana Course July 2025

July 5 Till July 9

3 Day Vipassana Course in Kenya July 2025

For Old Students Only

Applications will be accepted starting May 1st

The 3-Day Vipassana Meditation Course begins in the first week of July 2025. During this time, participants gain a focused opportunity to deepen their understanding and practice of Vipassana Meditation.

Courses for Old Students

“Old Students” are those who have completed at least one 10-day course with Mr. S. N. Goenka or his assistant teachers. Moreover, in addition to 10-day courses, old students can participate in specialized courses designed to meet their unique needs.

Short Courses for Old Students

Centers regularly host short courses, lasting 2 to 3 days, to help old students refresh their understanding of the Vipassana technique and strengthen their practice. These courses, therefore, serve as an excellent way to stay connected to the teachings and maintain consistency in meditation.

Course Charges

As is the tradition, all Vipassana courses, including this 3-day course, are offered entirely free of charge. This includes food, accommodation, and instruction. Consequently, all course expenses are funded by voluntary donations made by individuals who have completed a 10-day course. These donations, which are given out of gratitude, ensure that others can benefit from the technique as well.

About the Teacher

Introduction to Mr. S. N. Goenka

Mr. S. N. Goenka, a devoted student of Sayagyi U Ba Khin, introduced Vipassana Meditation to people worldwide. After attending his first course in 1955 at the International Meditation Centre in Rangoon, he dedicated the next 14 years to practicing and studying under Sayagyi’s guidance.

Global Expansion and Contributions

In 1969, Mr. Goenka began conducting courses in India and eventually expanded his reach globally. Over the years, he established the Vipassana International Academy in Igatpuri, India, as well as over 170 other centers worldwide. Additionally, he founded the Vipassana Research Institute to preserve the Buddha’s teachings and conduct scientific research on the benefits of Vipassana.

Emphasis on Practicality

Mr. Goenka emphasized the practical and universal nature of Vipassana. Furthermore, he encouraged people to apply its teachings to face life’s challenges with equanimity. Today, his assistant teachers continue to offer courses worldwide using his recorded instructions and discourses.

10-Day Courses Across All Centers

At centers worldwide, 10-day courses are conducted by assistant teachers of Mr. Goenka. These courses use his audio-visual materials, ensuring consistent and high-quality instruction.

Course Environment and Practices

Participants practice Vipassana in a residential retreat setting under the guidance of a qualified teacher. Courses take place at established Vipassana Centers or other designated sites. Students completely disconnect from the outside world to focus on their practice.

Code of Discipline and Noble Silence

Additionally, they follow a strict Code of Discipline, which includes noble silence and refraining from activities like reading or writing. While participants avoid communication with fellow students, they are encouraged to discuss meditation-related questions with the teacher and address logistical concerns with the management.
